Role: Trading Standards Manager – retail/ food/ manufacturing
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £35000 - £45000 plus excellent benefits
Our client is a major UK retailer with a commitment to providing the highest quality products at the very best price. They require a Trading Standards Manager to ensure that the company complies with all relevant Trading Standards and Consumer Protection legislation following procedures that are clear, concise and easy to apply, whilst still maintaining a best practice approach.
The Role
·Provide expert guidance on Trading Standards and Consumer Protection legislation
·Ensure that the company’s products and services comply with internal and external policy and legislative standards
·Authorise own brand product specifications and product labelling
·Maintain a proactive relationship with central and local government, securing timely and effective resolution of queries and enforcement action
·Develop and implement policies to protect and enhance the Brand
·Undertake focussed supplier and Company site audits
The Person
·Previous experience in a practical Trading Standards role
·Formal Trading Standards professional qualifications (DTS, DCATS, DCA or equivalent)
·In depth knowledge of consumer protection legislation relating to manufacturing and retail industries
·Expert knowledge of legislation relating to food composition and labelling, fair trading, advertising and non-food product safety
·Strong communication skills
·Commercial awareness
