Trainee Project Engineer - Automotive - West Yorkshire
TWL Ltd is one of theleading prototype and tooling developers and manufacturer of low, medium and high volume precision engineered components to a diverse cross section of industrial and automotive sectors.
To compliment our existing team we are now looking to recruit a Trainee Project Engineer based at our state of the art manufacturing facility in Huddersfield.
Job Purpose
To develop the skills/ knowledge to successfully integrate within the project team. This will lead to the eventual management and co-ordination of all key internal and customer specific projects within the business.
Key Tasks
Key Tasks:
To plan and organise the necessary resources required for the projects from procurement through to manufacture, inspection, testing, delivery and customer validation of parts.
To contribute within small project teams who will be responsible for providing the necessary information to respond to new customer enquiries or requests for quotation.
To assist within project teams to ensure that the required timescales are achieved and that the associated technical, quality, health & safety and environmental issues are satisfied.
Maintain the project documentation in line TWL’s Quality System and any Customer specific requirements.
To utilise the knowledge and skills of project team members and senior management to ensure that new products and processes are validated effectively.
To advise and assist the customers in the development of their products, by participating in problem solving methodologies to overcome technical issues.
To help co-ordinate and facilitate the company’s annual CRP (Cost Reduction Program).
Materials / Tools:
Quality systems manual
TS16949
ISO14001
General quality assurance methods – SPC, FMEA, trials, audits etc.
World Class Manufacturing Tools – 5s, SMED, Hoshin, Kanban, etc.
Projects:
Will aspire to be responsible for progressing, controlling and monitoring of project(s) and assign responsibility for completing to the required task to the appropriate team member/s.
Will be required to be either a leader or member of a project team as required
Person Specification:
ONC/ HNC in Mechanical or Production / Manufacturing Engineering.
Apprentice Trained (Toolroom or Machining background).
