My Client is looking for an experienced Print Services Programmer to join their Document
Engineering team, within the Technology and Solutions Department. Previous data processing and composition
experience within a Transactional and Direct Mail environment is
essential.
Experience
of PrintSoft's PReS software is essential, with a minimum of two year’s working
in a data processing and image composition environment covering:
·Setting of letter texts for promotional mailings, taking supplied data
(names, addresses, etc) and merging with the set texts to produce mailing
files.
·The writing of PReS scripts for transactional mailings, e.g. utility
bills, taking supplied data from transactional billing systems and composing
the bill taking into account issues such as pagination rules to facilitate
multi-page bills.
·Produce outputs for use on Client’s cut sheet, continuous and desktop
printers, as production requirements demand.
·Print job submission and management using Emtex VIP, Oce PRISMA, Xerox
Freeflow and DocuSP.
·The creation and management of Fonts and Graphics.
·Production of laser proofs for Customer approval.
·Maintain and develop existing PReS scripts to ensure systems continue to
meet customer requirements and run as efficiently as is possible; maintain full
version control of all updates undertaken.
·Knowledge of working with flat, structured and print ready data format;
XML, CSV, Line Mode, Postscript, AFP Metacode.
·Practical experience of working with mail sortation and suppression
software; Anabase, NCOA, GAS, TBR, MPS
·Advise internal and external customers on the capabilities and
limitations of the our Document Engineering suite of software.
Knowledge
of development tools such as C, C++, Delphi and .Net would be desirable.
Knowledge
of the Emtex suite of software: VIP (Virtual Intelligent Presentation) is
desirable; VDE (Virtual Document Engineering) would also be a distinct
advantage.
My Client runs both Xerox Docutech and Oce 6150 cut sheet and Oce 500 and 7650 continuous
duplex printers.Experience of
working with these printer configurations would be an advantage.We produce highlight colour and full
digital colour output on this site and experience of working with colour PDLs
would be beneficial.
My Client is highly customer focused and strong communication skills are an
important requirement as are core Data processing and Composition skills.Part of the role would include
customer-facing situations, explaining technical concepts to a non-technical audience
will be required.
Projects
are often measured in days rather than weeks, so the ability to work
effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential. In addition, the successful candidate
would need to demonstrate a systematic approach to their work with excellent
attention to detail.
