Transport Manager
Good Transportation
Up to £ 40,000 + car
Established Haulier requires a highly motivated transport professional to manage vehicles, drivers, planners and office staff. With a fleet of 50 vehicles and 100 trailers you will have demonstrable experience within a multi temperature FMCG environment.
The Role
This position relates to a busy site with a combination of bulk and single drop deliveries which are both planned schedules and special drops.
*Responsible for the day to day running of the site you will oversee the traffic office, workshop and other transport/client related areas.
*Ensure a level of efficiency in line with the Company's expected standards, including all 'O' licence and legal requirements - tachographs, driver hours, vehicles services, health and safety, MOT's etc.
*Communicate regularly with customers, liaising on all issues including quotes, quality of service/care, investigations or complaints.
The Person
You will be a 'hands on" operator with extensive general haulage experience who fully understands haulage legislation. Taking the reigns you will motivate your drivers and lead the transport operations function in order to both maximise performance standards and fleet utilisation, whilst minimising costs. Other attributes:
*Experienced transport manager with a haulage background.
*Excellent man-management skills and the ability to respond to fluctuations in daily volumes
*Must have good transport planning and IT skills/experience and a CPC is desirable
*Would suit a Transport Manager from a multi temperature FMCG environment with strong people management skills and excellent IT/transport planning ability.
Package and Prospects
Salary is negotiable but around £35 - 40,000 + car or car allowance. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join the organisation at this exciting time.
