Job Description
Our client is one of the UK’s largest independent travel agents, with numerous awards for quality, and is looking to recruit Travel Sales Consultants.
The main responsibility of the role, based in Glasgow, is to advise on and then sell a range of worldwide holidays from all the major tour operators over the telephone and face to face to ensure maximum sales and targets are achieved. As well as a friendly, energetic and professional working environment the successful candidate will benefit from fantastic earning potential and excellent product training.
This is an exciting opportunity for travel professionals to join an expending company selling a variety of quality holiday products with a strong focus on service. Applications are welcomed from candidates with a strong background in travel and ABTA agency experience looking to take their career to the next level.
Candidate Requirements
Strong experience working within the travel industry, having worked for an ABTA agency
Excellent sales and closing ability with experience working to targets
IT literate
Good numeracy skills
Ability to identify and act on upselling opportunities
In depth knowledge of specialist travel products such as cruise or longhaul would be advantageous
Qualities required
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively at all levels
Positive and professional telephone manner
Able to work as part of a team as well as unsupervised
Punctual and willing to work shifts and weekends
Well organised with a strong customer service ethic
Ability to work under pressure
Passion for travel and the ability to communicate that to customers
Remuneration
High basic salary and excellent bonus scheme offered according to experience
