My Client is a manufacturer of power protection equipment, in particular UPS (uninterruptible power supplies). Selling via a number of channels, customers include blue chip multinationals wishing to protect their entire computer rooms from the effects of mains power failure, electrical contractors, value added resellers and computer dealers.
The company also installs high integrity modular computer rooms, which are sold as a turnkey installation package, including air-conditioning, gas fire suppression and security.
The company is a niche player offering superior service and support. The company is currently undergoing a rapid expansion so this is an opportunity to join at a key stage in the company's development.
Profile
Qualified to HNC or ONC in electronics, and with a number of years experience in the servicing of UPS Systems or similar power electronics equipment, suitable candidates will have experience in fault finding and repair. Presentable and with clear communication, determined to get the job finished so as to leave customers satisfied. Self motivated, and able to work unsupervised. Flexible and able to work out of normal hours when necessary.
The role
As one of the company's Service Engineers, the jobholder will be responsible for visiting customer's sites in order to carry out Commissioning, routine maintenance and emergency repairs of the company's products.
Maintaining the company's high standards of customer care, being able to communicate clearly with customers and work closely with a close knit team (electrical, admin, sales, technical staff).
Clear understanding of safe working practices while working on high energy electrical circuits.
The reward:
Basic salary will be based on around £20k to £25k per annum, depending on experience. The company has a stakeholder pension scheme, and will match contributions up to 3% of salary after one year. Hours of work are 8.30 to 5.00, with 20 days annual leave plus an unspecified Christmas shutdown period. Significant overtime opportunity.
