My client is the fastest growing steel manufacturers in the UK. They currently have a requirement for a qualified utility engineer to join their team. The successful applicant must be able to find the relevant legal legislation and be able to document this and make sure the company is meeting all the required procedures, e.g. keeping up with the latest environmental legislation e.g., water treatments, pressure testing of vessels, inspections of pipe work and valves and safe working procedures with pressurised gases on site. You must be able to work within a team environment and also be able to do general mechanical duties on site when required. You will be a part of Mechanical service team and comply with shift/duty/safety requirements. The IT skills required for this role are a very good knowledge of AutoCAD due to you having to make drawings to understand, read and modify the layout.
Duties:
• Day to day running of site services
• Water treatment management
• Gas management (Oxygen, Nitrogen, Argon, Natural Gas & overseeing BOC deliveries and BOC plant on site)
• Looking after drainage, buildings, heating systems and toilets on site
• Responsible for overseeing the compressor house, cooling towers and pumps

• Responsible for modernisation and improvements to site services and also keeping the plant in line with any new legislation what comes into being
Education and Experience
• The desired candidate should be a qualified Mechanical Engineer or equivalent.
• Experience in utilities management.
• Minimum of 5 years experience within the industry or at least 10 years of site services management.
