Web Designer /
DeveloperA fantastic opportunity has arisen for a
web developer /designer to work for a leading and award winning company
within their sector on the design and technical development of a portfolio of
websites, as well as browser-based applications used internally by employees.
The responsibilities of the web designer
/ developer will be to assess how the company websites perform and how they
can be improved, functionally, technically and visually. You will be
responsible at design stage to produce schematics / wireframes to visualise
concepts and gain consensus of approach from members of the web development
team. He/she will deliver projects based on the agreed scope / specification
and within agreed timescale. You will document any new systems or processes
developed and code adhering to compliant standards. You will ensure all code
produced is optimised regarding speed and size and consistent in design. You
will concentrate on the user experience at all times to maximise the agreed
goals.
The successful applicant will possess
excellent cross browser CSS/XHTML skills especially focusing on table-less
layout and separation of presentation from content. You will be strong in
ASP.net, JavaScript, XML / XSLT, AJAX,
Visual Studio, SQL and Photoshop / fireworks or similar. He/she will possess
a flair for innovation that is looking to push the boundaries of web design
and development. You will be able to demonstrate a portfolio of previous work
and show a thorough understanding of issues regarding website usability.
Previous experience of working on travel industry projects would be
beneficial.
