Web Developer - West London - 30k
This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and talented person who has a passion for web development and online marketing to work in a growing and successful business, based in West London.
Role Purpose
To support the Online Marketing Manager in all areas related to marketing the company and its products online.
Role Responsibilities
*Writing, testing and scheduling email marketing campaigns
*Online marketing of special offers
*Web copy maintenance
*Website and email design
*Research - competitor, sector and market analysis as well as keeping up to date with new technologies
*Search Engine Optimisation and analysis - Organic and PPC
*Using web 2.0 social networking technologies for marketing purposes
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
You must have a related degree and at least 3 years full time experience in developing and maintaining websites for the purpose of marketing a company, product or service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has a genuine passion for what they do. Ideally you will be a dynamic, self-motivated person who is keen to learn and who will bring a wealth of experience to the team.
Candidate Experience/ skills:
Must have technical skills:
*Experience developing and monitoring email marketing campaigns
*Search Engine Optimisation expertise - both organic and pay per click
*Strong and in-depth XHTML/ CSS/ XML/ XSLT/ Javascript expertise
*Experience in developing web applications in ASP or another server side scripting language
*Experience writing SQL queries
*Good working knowledge of Fireworks/ Photoshop, Dreamweaver
*Experience participating actively in the social networking arena and knowledge of how to use Web 2.0 for business
Preferred technical skills:
*Good working knowledge of copywriting for the web medium
*JQuery and AJAX development skills preferred
*Extensive and proven experience using web analytics tools to measure the success of organic search, calculate ROI and supply regular reports to management
*Accessibility, usability and user interface design skills
*Excellent web design and cross browser testing skills - you must be able to demonstrate graphical creativity
*Understanding and working knowledge of Microsoft Server and IIS
*Comfortable working with FTP technology
*Vast MS Office skills including Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Other candidate requirements:
*An aptitude and passion for Internet-related technology
*Good command of English AND
*Strong written and verbal communication skills
*An analytical approach, with a focus on detail and process
*A high degree of numeracy for web analytics and metrics reporting
*High attention to detail
*Must be friendly with a flexible attitude and proven experience of working in a small team
*Creativity and innovation
*Proven ability to work quickly and accurately in a deadline-driven environment
