Job Description

Post Title:Centre Manager

Responsible to:General Manager and Directors

Job Purpose

The primary role is to contribute to the development and growth of the company. To understand the needs of the company, and to assist the general manager and the directors in the running of the company; implementing projects and plans in line with company objectives.The management of the training centres.Ensuring the company’s contracts are delivered to profile.To lead, motivate, train and develop staff.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Supervise learners and staff
  • Meeting set company targets.
  • The development of new business.
  • To participate in forward planning and use of resources.
  • To motivate and lead, monitor, train and develop the centre team, in line with strategic company objectives, maintaining staff training records.
  • To assess and understand their own and the team’s competency level, strengths and weaknesses.
  • To ensure that all staff are aware of the company’s expectations and standards, and that all rules, procedures and policies are strictly adhered to by all staff.
  • To liaise with outside bodies such as DfES / SfA, Primary Contractors, Employment Services, Careers/Connexions, NAS etc.
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with the staff, learners and employers.
  • With the Internal Verifier, ensure that CADcentre and Awarding Body standards are maintained.
  • Ensure that learners follow their Individual Learning Plan within the required timescales.
  • Ensure all learners are enrolled on the correct course title with the appropriate awarding bodies.
  • Follow the company procedures with regard to confidentiality and Data Protection.
  • Report any issues with regard to Child Protection to Senior Management.
  • Complete the required CADcentre documentation relating to learners and records required for audit and inspection purposes
  • Ensure all Employers have a valid health and safety Vetting & Monitoring assessment completed (only nominated competent staff can complete the check) and maintain a tracking system to record assessments.
  • Conduct regular staff performance reviews, in line with policy, with all staff, setting SMART targets.
  • Following company procedures with regard to demonstrating commitment to equality of opportunity and any other anti-discriminatory practice, & ensure maintenance of confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Monitor the Lone Worker Policy Co-ordinator, and ensure the Lone Worker policy is adhered to.
  • Promote and support company working groups eg IV team, Quality Team, ESDGC Working group,
  • Monitor and track staff holidays, sickness and over time records, ensuring that absences are recorded.
  • Compile data, statistics and reports for the general manager and directors
  • Liaise with the marketing department with regards to prospective learners and allocate them to an appropriate assessor
  • Encourage and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Lead the weekly staff meeting and ensure it is appropriately and accurately documented and minuted.

Other responsibilities

  • To behave in a positive and professional manner at all times when representing the company.
  • Follow the company’s motoring procedures and policy.
  • General housekeeping duties, ensuring the centre is kept tidy.
  • Any other duties as requested by the General Manager or Director’s

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour.

Qualifications or Training

  • Good standard of education: A level/Degree or equivalent specialist experience.
  • Good knowledge of NVQ’s and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of WG and/or SfA procedures.
  • A commitment to and knowledge of Health & Safety and Equality & Diversity legislation.
  • Excellent IT Skills in Microsoft packages
  • A management related qualification would be desirable, but not essential.

Experience

Knowledge of CADcentre policies and procedures (once in post ).

Experience of working in a supervisory capacity.

·Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate clear written and verbal communication skills including report writing skills.

·The ability to behave in a positive and professional manner when dealing with learners and staff.

·A recognition and regard for observing confidentiality and Data Protection issues.

·An ability to show personal effectiveness: to work in own initiative and meet set timescales, and to liaise with the General Manager and Director’s
