We are currently inviting applications from Project Managers with
experience in the Research and Development of Wind Farm projects.
Candidates will be responsible for the innovation and development of
technology that will maximise the efficiency of current and future
Renewable Energy harvesting methods.
Responsibilities and tasks
You have experience, the drive and have the vision to change the wind industry. The project manager role will require outstanding management skills dealing with a portfolio of complex projects. Your co-workers are international research specialists, researchers at universities, engineers and technicians throughout the business at multiple sites. You need to bolt this complexity into success.
You main responsibilities are:
*Project delivery - Co-ordination and successful implantation
*Budget and schedule control
*Ensuring efficient exchange of know-how
*Lead the most promising ideas into successful demonstrations
*Execution of development projects from design to prototyping
*Taking a risk based approach when dealing with deviations and ensuring early mitigation and minimum impact
*Continuously drive to optimise the project in order to improve performance
*Motivating and leading cross cultural project teams
Qualifications and work experience
5+ years experience from a research or product development environment in a relevant field, such as: wind turbines, aeronautics, maritime industry, off-shore technology or similar. You are backed by excellent team leadership skills and good technical qualifications. You have proved your project management skills and can lead through others in a global environment.
Your technical background is in complex structures or control systems related to wind turbines, aircraft, automotive or similar related area. You hold a MSc. Degree or higher
You may in addition have some of the following technical qualifications:
*You have a relevant scientific Master degree - i.e. in mechanical engineering or science
*You have proven experience in project management of complex / cross-functional international projects (a min. of 5+ years experience is required). Experience from R&D projects are an advantage but not a must
*You have a solid experience in executing projects
*You have a proven track record of a demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. You must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions
*It is an advantage that you hold experience in working in quality environment under ISO-9000, six sigma or similar and that you have experience with ERP/MRP
*You master English both orally and in writing
*Knowledge of development tools CFD, Pro-E, Flex5, Bladed or HAWC is an advantage
*Experience in projects based on complex composite structures.
The role will suit individuals currently working as Wind Energy Project Managers and living within a commutable distance of the Isle Of Wight, Portsmouth, Southampton or willing to relocate.
