Job Function and Objectives:
The Quality Coordinator/ Engineer should have proven experience within a precision manufacturing environment with knowledge of production/process engineering and quality management/supervision.
Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, inspire, motivate and manage diverse teams are essential for this role.
Main Duties and Key Features:
·Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety & Environmental
·Provide day-to-day supervision of Quality Engineers / Inspection activities
·Develop suitable data acquisition and analysis (SPC) for use in continuous improvement activities.
·As an ISO Quality System Representative, have an in-depth working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO9001: 2000 and actively participate in related audits.
·Coordinate the management of effective 5Y/8D root cause analysis and corrective actions raised from internal/external deficiencies.
·Use consistent structured methodology such as PDCA & The Six Sigma DMAIC process to implement problem solving and co-ordinate these activities involving Quality and other team personnel.
·Play a pivotal role in the customer feedback process and report trends and improvement actions to the Management Review meeting.
·Involvement in the training and development of individuals and teams in order to enhance performance and operational effectiveness.
·Ensure effective quality assurance practices are implemented to analyse performance (ie scrap, re-work, non standards etc) and develop effective means of reducing same.
·Drive Quality improvements, developing preventative measures PFMEA/PokeYoke and specify/purchase appropriate QA equipment and/or upgrade existing inspection equipment to optimise process and improve throughput.
·Liaise with suppliers resolving Quality issues and undertake evaluation of supplier’s Quality Management System if necessary.
·Co-operate with all department teams across the business, to implement required changes to the business.
·Liaise with new and M.T.O product introduction, developing Quality planning where necessary to ensure the effective introduction of new products to production.
·Develop processes to ensure quality, cost, and efficiency requirements are met
·Provide high level technical support regarding process measurement and mechanical inspection techniques.
Suggested qualifications:
Educated to HNC/degree level or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering subject
