PRODUCTION PLANNER
Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
Remel is a leading brand in the field of microbiology with customers in clinical, food and pharmaceutical laboratories around the world. Remel products are manufactured and marketed by the Microbiology business of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF ROLE: To ensure production targets are met by planning and co-ordinating cross-functional activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·The generation and update of Master Production Schedules (MPS) that show both the ideally required supply of finished goods and the actual planned supply.
·Cascade the requirements for component manufacture down from the MPS through the secondary manufacturing areas and into the bulk laboratories.Co-ordinate supply through these areas, communicate changes in priorities and expediting requirements.
·For serum and raw materials review re-order point level (ROP) highlight materials at this trigger point and raise appropriate works orders as requested by Laboratory staff.These reviews to take place at a frequency required to maintain stocks above the safety stock levels.
·Co-ordination of scheduled activities in Technical Production, Planning,Secondary Production and PQA.
·Ensuring critical promise dates are met and communicated to all parties.
·Progress chasing to ensure critical events occur on the day required.
·Preparing detailed production schedules with Product Leaders for priority products to meet specific delivery dates or prevent backorders.
·Responsible for familiarising and complying with all health, safety and environmental rules, policies, procedures and any other instructions relevant to working within their area of the Company.
·To create and amend product structures and routing instructions according to new product and change note requirements using the implementation of Effectivity dates
·To set redundant items to Obsolete in accordance with the Change Note system.
·Track and co-ordinate the implementation of change notes and the products they affect.Also raise any NCR’s for implementing BOM changes before change note implementation.
·Any other duties/projects as are reasonable and within the skills and ability of the post-holder.
EDUCATION
·Educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent, relevant qualifications are preferred
·12 months experience within a Production Planner role is essential
·Familiarity with Microsoft IT packages are essential (esecially Excel). A working knowledge of SAP is an advantage
