An exciting opportunity to work for a multi-site 60,000 UK employee organisation undergoing a major transformation programme following the merger of two businesses. The central importance of reward as both an enabler and accelerator of change is widely recognised and the chance to share in the successful re-invention of the business at such critical stage in the company’s history is a very rare opportunity indeed. The Head of Reward will lead the reward agenda and by extension, influence the behaviours and actions of thousands of employees and stakeholders. Leading a team of eight professionals you will be required to drive the company’s reward management towards “World Class” approaches, applying leading edge thinking and ensuring internal best practices are shared for the benefit of all. This includes a portfolio of reward harmonisation projects, as well as overseeing the delivery of the annual reward cycle and the company’s benefits policies. You will also be positioned to contribute to the design and development of HR Strategy, as a key member of the HR leadership team. To succeed you will likely possess a good appreciation of the UK retail reward landscape, either through current or previous employment and have no less than five years senior level reward experience, including some management of other Reward professionals. You will be technically proficient in the design of base pay setting and progression structures, from senior management to hourly paid employees and ideally, a working knowledge of the HAY job evaluation system. You will be ambitious to deliver both operational excellence and to translate strategic vision into reward programmes which positively impact performance.
