Senior Cost Manager - Dubai
Our client, an International Construction and Management Consultancy is currently seeking a senior cost manager to work on the world’s most ambitious tourism, leisure and entertainment project in Dubai.
The unique 3 billion sq. ft. development was designed to catapult Dubai onto the global map, reinforcing its ambition of emerging as an international hub of family tourism appealing to tourist segments across genders, age group, world regions and activity preferences. Dubailand is projected to attract millions of tourists annually from around the world once fully operational.
The diverse projects under Dubailand include theme parks, eco-tourism projects, shopping malls, restaurants and residential units. Projects are being developed by a variety of dynamic investors from the UAE, GCC and overseas.
As the cost manager you will be responsible for the service delivery of world-class, fast-track developments in the hotels, leisure, residential and commercial sectors ranging in value from $40m to $100m US.
Acting as the key, day to day client interface you will ensure that client objectives are met through the delivery of a value added cost management service.
You day to day role will involve conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports, applying value management techniques at the outset of a project and where appropriate involving our clients specialist value management team.
You will manage estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan as well as managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
You will need to have strong pre and post contract experience as you will ensure that post-contract cost variances and change control processes are managed effectively as with cost checking and valuation work.
Experience of value engineering and life cycle costing is essential.
As an experienced cost manager you will interface with the client and other consultants at all project stages and where appropriate, lead a cost management team, ensuring that they deliver on all of the above accountabilities.
As a key member of the Middle Eastern team you will work alongside Directors in promoting our clients services in the area and recognize and introduce new business opportunities.
The client’s main objective is that the project’s be delivered in accordance with the defined time, cost and quality parameters.
Our client is responsible for developing and implementing project controls, monitoring and reporting against the consultant’s performance, developing and advising the client on the appropriate procurement strategy and managing the procurement of the works.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced quantity surveyor to step up a level and act as lead cost manager and client interface in an intense and key market environment with the full support of an exceptional team of International cost and project management consultants.
