| Description: |
My client currently has 6 offices in the UK, which provides them with country wide coverage. Their clients include utility, energy and rail companies as well as city councils. They are a multidisciplinary construction and engineering contractor who are looking for someone they can train up to become a geotechnical engineer.
Qualifications: a BSc in geology, earth sciences or equivalent with evidence of site investigation experience. A further qualification in geotechnical engineering, engineering geology or equivalent would be an advantage.
Experience: any experience in the sector, especially showing site investigation experience would be ideal.
Duties
Geotechnical design of foundations and retaining walls
Slope stability
Site investigation including window sampling and trial pitting
Technical report writing
Travelling between sites
Working as part of a team
Typical projects
Projects will be varied, from large to small projects covering large commercial developments to private housing projects. Recent projects they have been involved in have been the A379 Exeter canal bridge refurbishment.
