Based in the Sunderland contact centre as an Advisor you're very much part of the banking team. No previous sales experience is necessary, however you will be target driven and your personality will enable you to identify our customers' needs and recommend the products and services that makes life easier and money go further.
There's no "cold-calling" involved - you will however be contacting existing Barclays customers and looking at ways of making their finances work harder for them. Advisors ensure that in all cases customers are left with an impression of the Bank which is positive and professional - helping to pave the way for future business.
Full and comprehensive training will be given and will cover areas including Barclays' products and services, financial regulations, Barclays' information systems, and effective techniques when speaking with customers. The first part of training will be mainly in a training room environment, after this new team members move into a skills development area on the operational floor where call structures, sales skills, effective use of product knowledge and practicing calls without pressure will be the main focus areas.
