Senior Children Support Worker
Our client is a non profit making organisation supporting victims who have experienced domestic violence
Job Purpose: To provide direct assistance and support day and night to meet the needs of women and their children experiencing violence / abuse, and maximizing their physical, mental and social well being by providing an environment that is safe, supportive, and respects the dignity and individuality of each resident
Previous experience is essential: Professional qualification related to child care is required
2 years post qualifying experience with children; at least one years experience either voluntary or paid or working with children/families in a caring and enabling capacity
Must have knowledge of relevant legislation e.g. Children’s Act 1989 and Community Care Act 1990
Must have Word processing computer literacy skills
Additional language skills in; Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu or Gujarati is a distinct advantage for this role.
This is full time role, 37.5 hours willingness to work flexible hours according to the needs of the organisation is required which may on occasions include evening and weekend work
Potential candidates will have access to there own transport and be willing to travel in Leicester.
Initially these roles will start on a temporary basis with a view to be made permanent.
