Location: Gloucester
Salary: Up to £25,000 plus benefits

This leading insurance Company is seeking an Underwriter to join their successful and well-developed team. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop and grow within a professional and knowledgeable insurance environment. The position will involve dealing with Commercial and Niche Insurance Risks.

Responsibilities

Underwriting and negotiating business within specified authority limits and a technical reference point, taking referrals from other underwriters and teams
Developing business relationships, personally handling and negotiating the renewal and acquisition of new business for certain brokers and customers
Assisting with the development and implementation of strategies
Developing and maintaining a reasonable market profile

Skills:

Good previous insurance underwriting experience
Strong negotiation and delegation skills
Numerate, with good communication, problems solving and influencing skills
Decisive, articulate results driven and able to manage a diverse workload
Ability to apply technical judgement in the performance and control of risks
Ability to produce innovative solutions, translating vision into clear definition and execution
Strong team player with superior verbal and written communication skills
