| Description: |
A large multidisciplinary consultancy is recruiting for a Geotechnical Consultant to be based in their office in Nottingham.
You must have experience of Geotechnical design from a previous role, an MSc in a relevant discipline is also preferred.
Qualification - BSc Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering / Engineering Geology or related degree
Experience - 2 Years +
Duties
You will be planning and working on a range of Geotechnical projects. You must be familiar with the duties listed below.
- Preparing information to carry out desk studies
- Carrying out site walkovers and desk studies, correctly taking any necessary samples
- Providing instruction and guidance to other site workers
- Design of earthworks, foundations and retaining structures
- Conducting qualitative, quantitative and on site risk assessments
- Interpreting geotechnical data to write technical reports
- Liaising with clients throughout the project and ensuring that they receive a satisfactory level of service
Typical projects
You will be working on a range of exciting projects which are in a variety of sectors including residential, commercial, transport, infrastructure and a number of projects within the environmental sector. Your work will mainly be based in and around the Midlands but at times may be based in other parts of the UK.
