Project Engineer: EPIC £40 - £50 per hour plus Long term contract (12 months+) Based in the Midlands
Role
A role has become available for a Project Engineer with our widely known client in the Midlands. You will report in to the Section Leader or Chief Engineer of Power Systems. You will be responsible for the Engineers, Graduates and Technical Assistants.
Purpose
To provide technical leadership on projects for Marine & Offshore and manage / co-ordinate design teams to meet project objectives. You will also provide the key technical interface to the customer and liaise with sales, contract, commissioning and service teams.
Tasks
* To plan and progress all design and test activities for a specific project, inclusive of communication to team members * To ensure design meets the requirements of the customer * To establish ad maintain engineering quality control systems * To monitor, control and manage engineering budgets and change control systems. * To act as part of multi-disciplined project teams to deliver full systems to customer requirements * Liaison with other units, customers, suppliers and sub-contractors in order to support the business * Provision of technical advice and assistance to Automation, Sales and Tendering Teams
Experience
Knowledge of marine power and propulsion systems will be an advantage as well as experience in application engineering in one or more fields. Experience in the marine and offshore business will also be advantageous.
Qualifications
You should be of graduate calibre or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering. Chartered engineering status would be a bonus but is not essential.
