Description: An excellent opportunity to join a market leader in the water and coastal sector, not only in the UK but worldwide. To be considered for this position you will need to have proven skills/experience in the aquatic biology and water quality sector. This should include a working knowledge of existing water quality legislation and the implications of the Water Framework Directive (WFD) for the UK. You will be working on a range of projects, varying in size from one day emergency pollution surveys to large Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).

Qualifications - BSc or BEng in a water or environmental discipline. Ideally this will be followed by an MSc in an Aquatic Biology or Water Quality discipline. Member of CIWEM (or equivalent). Full UK driving licence

Experience - Proven project management experience of aquatic biology and water quality investigations.


Company - International Multidisciplinary Engineering and Environmental Consultancy

Staff - 1200 UK staff

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Sampling and analysis of invertebrates and macrophytes
- Interpreting small and large data sets (via multivariate statistics, spreadsheets and MS Access)
- Knowledge of water quality and wastewater treatment
- Planning and implementing pollution investigations
- Water Quality Assessments
- Environmental Impact Assessments
- Providing pollution prevention advice to consultants and contractors
- Assisting with business development
- Liaison with the Environment Agency
