Badenoch & Clark are currently recruiting for a Building Maintenance & Management Team Leader on behalf of a large, successful local authority in the Bedfordshire area. The successful candidate will lead and manage the customer focused maintenance & management service to the councils' non-housing operational buildings and contribute to the development, implementation and management of cost effective programmes of planned maintenance.

Responsibilities will include:

*Specify and procure term contracts for the day to day maintenance of corporate buildings in respect of building, electrical and engineering works, including monitoring and reporting on contractor performance and ensuring regular review meetings are held with the contractor's and staff.

*Provide a comprehensive responsive repairs consultancy service to internal and external clients as directed e.g. schools, safety officers, environmental health officers etc. including the Council's investment portfolio

*Provide high level personal and team advice to cost centre managers in client departments on technical and general maintenance matters.

*Monitor team performance and contribute to the groups performance indicators

*Ensure completion of, and if necessary undertake, surveys with specific objectives such as vacant properties for remedial/reinstatement work, surveys for Safety Officers and Environmental Health Officers. Writing technical reports and recommendations.

To be successful in your application it is essential you have significant experience in one or more of the following disciplines, Building Surveying, Architecture, Building Servicing Engineering or Facilities Management.
