Duties:
·To support Commercial Director and Programme Managers in all aspects of reporting and commercial challenge
·To support individual Project Development Managers in the financial reporting and control of projects
·To liaise closely with Planning function to ensure the corporate planning function accurately represents value, forecast costs, and investment profiles
·To prepare tenders enquiries for a variety of projects
·To draft, negotiate and award main contracts for Project Delivery
·To operate and administer financial aspects of contracts, including payments, administration of Compensation Events and Final accounts
·To advise and coach Project Managers on commercial and contractual matters
·To liaise with Programme teams to monitor and report on levels of efficiency and contractor benchmark efficiency comparisons
·To prepare and monitor development budgets and targets for projects through the capex lifecycle
·To develop and promote positive Partnering relationships with Clients, Suppliers, Contractors and within functions
Qualifications required:
Essential:
·A recognised engineering, building or surveying qualification (minimum HND)
·Current driving licence.
Desirable:
·Graduate level ability
·A recognised water industry qualification
·Membership of a relevant professional body
·A recognised Professional Surveying qualification (RICS, InstCES).
Experience required:
Essential:
·Minimum 5 years experience in the construction industry
·Preparation of financial reports and reconciliations
·Demonstrate computer proficiency including MS excel
·Knowledge and awareness of contract law and contract draftingSound contract negotiation skills
·Demonstrate commercial awareness and ability to interpret financial reports
·Ability to influence and communicate with team members within Solutions values, and with a strong Partnering ethos. Desirable:
·Experience of standard civil industry suites of contracts, , such as ACA PPC and SPC 2000, I Chem E etc used in the construction industry
·Experience of MOD forms of contract, desirable
·Dealing with and administrating contract compensation events / contractual claims
·Experience of EU procurement legislation and guidelines. .
