Senior Service Delivery Manager – Media, London,

Our client, a major software house, providing IT services and solutions to large corporate and public sector organisations is currently seeking a Senior Service Delivery Manager to join their team in London.

Our clients Service Delivery Managers are professional technical services managers responsible for co-coordinating the delivery of one or more services into key clients.The Service Delivery Manager plays a vital role in creating long-term healthy client relationships, acting as the bridge between the client and operational delivery teams.

As the Service Delivery Manager you will be accountable for the company’s internal satisfaction with the commercial performance of the services as well as will be accountable for the client’s loyalty and satisfaction with the service delivery performance.

The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of media sector services particularly multi platform video on demand services.You will have strong Project Management skills with 5+ years Service Management experience at a Senior level.

Key responsibilities for the role are as follows:-

  • Building a personal relationship with key client staff
  • Work with the account director to define and deliver account strategy
  • Successful service delivery - SLA achievement and high level of customer satisfaction
  • Good communication around issues and opportunities – get things done, make things happen
  • New business – proposals, pricing, pitches
  • Conversion of opportunities – identifying uplift and new service opportunities within your accounts.
  • Service reporting and chairing service delivery meetings
  • Removing all blockages to customer satisfaction and / or financial performance
  • May have 3rd party management responsibilities
  • Working with the client and operations teams to identify and manage service improvement activities
  • Along with Operations Managers and Technical Leads, accountable for and contribute to the overall performance of the managed services division

Skills & Competencies

  • Has a genuine interest in technology and a good understanding of internet technologies and applications particularly in the media sector
  • Motivated by the thought of providing world-class services and wants to be part of world-class organization and help create and maintain a world-class environment
  • Highly organized with a thoughtful, methodical approach but without being hidebound by process and unduly slow and bureaucratic
  • Have had good exposure to applications, e.g. much more than just the hardware and o/s – so experience or building or managing applications complex internet apps such as content management, video on demand, transactional websites and the availability problems these application can experience is a major, major advantage
  • Possess a great attitude – flexible, can-do, responsive, friendly and personable and always prepared to go the extra mile
  • Able to take control but is not overly-hierarchical and takes responsibility for self & teams actions and results
  • Have managed services of individual value in excess of £1m per annum
  • Excellent understanding of service management processes ideally ITIL qualified
