Fuels Technologist ( Diesel Engineering) Based in Gillingham Ref 57/159jh Salary negotiable according to experience £30000 to £40000 Description Rare opportunity for an experienced Fuels Technologist to join one of the world's largest automotive suppliers. You will be working with the latest cutting-edge technology in diesel fuel injection equipment, with the opportunity to move into more senior roles. Salary package is £30000 to 40000 + relocation assistance, final salary pension, BUPA, dental plan, professional body membership. Based in Gillingham, Kent. To provide the Company with a specialist knowledge of fuel chemistry, alternative fuels and laboratory analytical skills.· Expert knowledge in conventional and alternative fuels (biofuels, GTL, BTL, and XTL) and lubricant technologies and their applications in automotive industry· Expert knowledge with micro reactors, high pressure processes, supercritical fluid processes, environmental technology in petroleum process and automotive applications· Experience with laboratory analytical instrumental techniques
Responsibilities Initiate, plan and carry experimental and theoretical research and development projects on conventional and alternative fuels for better performance of diesel fuel injection systems on customer engines.· Propose and manage test programmes to support both strategy development and solution of newly identified fuel related problems.· To act as a point of focus to Innovation Centre, Product Engineering & Applications in fuels technology issues.· To ensure that pertinent new fuels technology issues are identified and understood.· To disseminate information in an efficient and timely manner.· To represent company views on issues related to alternative fuels in professional associations and other public institutions and organizations.· Liaise with Customers, technical and product centres for fuels related technology.
Qualifications & Experience · Advanced technical experience of petrochemical and petroleum refining technology, alternative fuels and fuel technology, and their automotive applications.· PhD combined with 1st Class Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.· Appropriate experience in programme coordination for conventional and alternative fuels technology development programme and its automotive application · Experience in Petrochemical Sector with laboratory and analytical instrumental techniques · Strong background in different aspects of chemical engineering.· Experience in lubricants processing and application, high pressure systems, catalytic processing, converters and catalysts.· Experience in technical support activities related to fuels and lubricants. · Public presentation skills and experience in international R&D projects and consultancy·
