Buyer/ Planner
Location: AylesburySalary: Up to £27,000 + Excellent Benefits

Role Summary They currently have an excellent opportunity for a Buyer/Planner who will be responsible for providing the interface with the Supply Chain and Programme team to manage the parts acquisition process for new products from initial design to handover of a stable supply chain into production.
Key Tasks include:
·Work within the project team to drive effective implementation of Design to Cost methodology within the project team.
·To input project cost information to the Sourcing Manager and to assist in the decision making process related to cost management.
·To seek and exploit opportunities for cost reduction within the project whilst ensuring Commodity strategies are maintained.
·To manage design changes with Suppliers to ensure any costs and obsolescence incurred are minimised whilst maintaining delivery in line with project requirements.
·Place and expedite orders in line with Project requirements, managing Supplier’s capacity constraints in line with the dynamic environment of design and development.
·To ensure parts are available for build in a timely fashion
·Risk Analysis – Identification and resolution of supply issues in order to meet business commitments, including expediting of all hardware against planned milestones
·Preparation and issue of Bid Packages where required
·Negotiation of prices, terms and conditions and agreements where agreed with the Sourcing manger
Experience Required·Good understanding of engineering ( mechanical or Electronics) and ability to influence designs
·Demonstrable experience within a manufacturing industry in either:
- A purchasing/sourcing environment
- Commercial environment
·Good PC skills, confident with use of MRP systems and Spreadsheets
·Proven experience in liaising with customers or suppliers
