Fabulous opportunity to join a market leader in system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solutions. You would be working on a full spectrum of software tools, intellectual property (IP) and design services for high-value programmable solutions for a worldwide client base.

The Candidate:

Software Engineer / Systems Engineer / Video Processing Engineer

KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • An exceptional academic background is essential, with a minimum upper second class degree (2.1) in Computer Science, or in an equivalent technical subject, from a leading university.
  • Strong hands on development skills in C/C++ and/or Java (or willing to cross train) are required.
  • Experience of developing video processing algorithms and systems for compression schemes (H.264, MPEG2, ProRes) and multi-streaming video applications.
  • Experience in SystemC, VHDL and/or Verilog.
  • Also considered highly desirable is familiarity with ESL tool flows and methodologies, particularly of their use in system on chip design.

The Role:

Software Engineer / Systems Engineer / Video Processing Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

  • As a member of the Multimedia System Solutions Group, this role works as part of a team of highly skilled and motivated engineers, developing solutions to address the challenges faced by our key customers in the video processing space across broadcast, military, video conferencing and video surveillance applications.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Developing video processing solutions to enable rapid development of complex FPGA based System-On-Chip video designs.
  • Developing video processing functions (e.g. multi-tap scaling, motion adaptive de interlacing), standard interfaces and protocol for data transmission, software for control and configuration, system debug solutions, and 1080p60 capable reference designs to demonstrate the tool flow and silicon capabilities.
  • Developing multi-stream video applications (e.g. for broadcast studio HD monitoring), and working in a small team to develop scalable and configurable video codec solutions, initially targeting H.264 and MPEG2.
  • With your knowledge of key customer applications and future roadmap, this role is also involved in generating tool, IP and silicon requirements to drive development in other groups within the Company.
The Salary/Benefits:
  • £40,000 - £50,000 per annum plus benefits
