Cordius Ltd. is recruiting for experienced Technical Production Operatives to join the manufacturing team of a leading Derby manufacturer. You will be working as part of a multi-skilled team performing manufacturing operations in accordance with written instructions and process controls. The tasks will be varied and working within a fast paced production environment.
Location: Derby
Salary:17,500 rising to 19,200 after probation period
Hours:3 Shifts – Monday to Friday
Duties will include:
- Ensure production targets are achieved e.g. OEE, Productivity and Waste
- Receiving and checking deliveries from suppliers. Taking appropriate remedial action if goods are not within specification
- Working to MoM, batch cards, product specifications and picking lists as appropriate. Taking appropriate remedial action if goods are not within specification
- Train other operatives (Including Agency Staff) on new AM/ PPM / Kaizen (e.g. TPM, SMED, Optimum settings, etc.) system.
- Validate operators according to their competency level
- Perform / lead project work and line improvement activities
- EnsureH&S and Quality procedures are followed to the required Standard
- Perform routine product testing & all quality control checks. Taking appropriate remedial action if goods are not within specification
- Maintain documents relating to Production, Health and Safety and Quality
- Control of line & liquid changeovers
- Actioning non-conformance of products ; where possible identifying & reporting faults with equipment/machinery
- Provide innovative solutions to problems
- Carry out audits (5C, SHE, etc) Adhere to site Health and Safety regulations.
- Perform tasks and duties at the SDM grading that has been awarded
- Any other duties as reasonably requested by line management
Successful candidates will require 5 GCSEs grades A C (or equivalent) including Maths and English as well as the following skills/abilities:
·The ability to perform tasks well
·Capable of repeatable, high accuracy output
·Ability to read and understand written instructions and to maintain records as required
·Ability to accept instruction and to pass skills on to others as required
·Demonstrable relevant skills within either Plastics or FMCG environments
·Available to work shifts 2 shifts 3 shifts or 24/7 dependant upon business needs 20% shift premium
