An Adult Services Department within a Local Authority is seeking a Commissioning Manager to take the lead on the transformation and redesign of their Older People’s Services commissioning framework; a long-term contract with the possibility of being taken on in a permanent capacity.
Our client is looking at improving and transforming their Older and Disabled People’s Services, and requires a motivated, forward-thinking individual with previous experience managing Older People’s Services.
This individual will play a major role in the overall development of the broader Social Care Transformation Programme. Focusing on the design and implementation of the strategic commissioning strategies; this post will require a strong background in commissioning, as well as the ability to manage, both a team of their own and partnerships with a number of surrounding healthcare organisations. This role will also involve the analysis of the current commissioning care needs and the ability to forecast the steps to be taken in the future to stay on top of the ever-changing social care market.
Key Skills/Experience:
Commissioning experience within an Adults or Older Peoples Services Department
Strategic Development of a commissioning framework
Operational reviews of value for money and best practice
Understanding of Self Directed Support / My Care My Choice / Personalisation Agenda
Partnership working with multiple disparate organisation
Ability to conduct a review of current commissioning practices and develop future guidelines
Budgetary and Financial Management
