Description: Business Improvement Manager, South based (flexible)

Support the business and process owners in delivering successful business process re-engineering projects which deliver substantial change in performance. Based within the Highways division (industry experience essential).

Key tasks / responsibilities

Lead and drive business improvement projects, including: -
• Develop project brief and agree with all stakeholders
• Process map current ‘as-is’ processes and collect associated data
• Analyse current performance data
• Research industry best practice / techniques which support business goals
• Validate business models with process area subject experts to ensure accuracy
• Plan and manage activities to define to-be processes, capabilities, application of key technologies, and performance measurements/KPIs
• Clearly articulate business cases with options and recommendations for change identifying operational and financial benefits
• Provide suggested implementation plan
• Support process owners and engage stakeholders to drive results
• Monitor project performance
• Facilitate change management process and help define the structural and cultural changes required to reach the project goals.

Person Specification

Experience
• Previous experience of business improvement / business process re-engineering with demonstrated success
• Process mapping
• Highways Industry experience – utility / local authority/Highways Agency

Professional skills and abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
• Knowledge of project management principles
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint.

Qualifications
• Degree in business or related technical degree or combination of education and experience
• Project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2)
