Job Description

A leading, international advisory and design consultancy with particular specialisation in infrastructure, property and environmental solutions is looking to recruit a Geo-Environmental

Engineer/Consultant for our Cardiff office.

Situated in the Geo-Environmental Team and specialising in the assessment and remediation of contaminated land, this role will suit someone looking for new challenges or seeking a position with excellent career progression opportunities.

With a strong public sector and private client base, we are seeking ambitious and capable staff to join our team to strengthen our capability and build on recent success to develop further.

The Role;

· Production of detailed desk studies and supervision of subsequent ground investigations

· Assess and carry out monitoring of ground conditions on land affected by contamination or compliance monitoring of waste sites.

· Production of risk assessment for contaminated land.

· Production of assessment to determine the risks to ground and surface waters and human health from contamination.

· Interpretation and compilation of chemical monitoring data and reporting

· Supported by a team of junior and graduate engineers

· Coaching and development of graduate team members.

· Compile factual and interpretative reports,

· Liaison with regulators, client and team members.

About You;

· A first degree in Geology or Environmental Sciences related subject is required.

· A second degree in a Environmental Geology / Hydrogeology,

· Applicants will have worked in the environmental industry as a consultant or environmental regulator for a minimum of 2 years and it would be expected that candidates will be working towards becoming a Chartered member of an appropriate body.

· Experience of supervision of ground investigation including environmental sampling

· Experienced in production and interpretation of groundwater and human health risk assessments.

· Up to date knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and guidance

· Strong written and verbal communication is essential to the role.

· Candidates should hold a full UK drivers licence.

· Self-motivated and ambitious.

· Strong team player.
