Location – Can be based anywhere in the UK (with regular travel to our head office in West Lothian). As this role covers key international markets, significant international travel will also be required

It’s a very exciting time here at IMD – we are currently experiencing growth and as our markets mature, our business continues to move from strength to strength… you could say this is just like one of our own fine single malts! We have even bigger plans ahead of us. Our business is thriving and as we expand, we now have a requirement to appoint a very unique role into our business, the role of a Rare Malts Business Development Manager.
Whisky is a passion, a skill and a calling. Here at IMD, we can take you on our journey, further into the detail and deeper into the complexities of our malt brands and spirits. We are looking for someone who is just as passionate and excited about malts as we are! Our ideal candidate is also someone who has successes and experiences in both account management and sales roles, within the spirits sector. You will already have an expert appreciation and understanding of high value products and vintages and a strong commercial mind around these products. You will also possess solid practical experiences about how to identify, create and manage customer databases in these regards and how to target new and existing consumers via the likes specialist shops and whisky connoisseur groups, forums and wide reaching whisky and spirits networks.
Reporting to the Sales and Brand Director, the key responsibilities and objectives will include
driving sales of high value vintages & special bottling direct (at full margin) to targeted individuals & selected specialist shops.
creating and maintaining the database of the market for sales direct (at full margin) to targeted individuals & selected specialist shops
developing opportunity & capturing content for, & support the impact of, digital, social media.
contributing to and supporting the development of the plan for of high value vintages & special bottling to be sold direct to consumers at full retail price
contributing to the management team, introducing the highest levels of professionalism and implementing world class operating standards and processes to prepare the Region for further growth
acting as a conduit for best practice and external knowledge group-wide and keep abreast of industry trends and competitor activity, ensuring product, marketing activities, strategic CRM initiatives and operations are setting industry leading standards
