Our client is a specialist caterer working for discerning clients in buildings of distinction with the aim of helping their clients to create an experience beyond food. Established in 2002 their client list includes many of Edinburgh and Scotland's finest venues and they provide great parties and special events, as well as running fantastic cafes within leading visitor attractions.

They are now seeking an Events Professional to join their team taking care of Private Events.

You will be responsible for the planning function as a member of their team in Edinburgh, based at the Head Office in North Fort Street. On a daily basis, you will be handling client requests, creating appropriate proposals in response to initial enquiries, following up all enquiries in a timely manner and ultimately converting enquiries into confirmed events, issuing contracts and planning the event.

Together with the General Manager you will be tasked with working closely with their venue clients, developing the events business in order to achieve the annual budget.

You will also work closely with the Director of Sales and the wider events team in order to nurture existing relationships and identify new opportunities. You will increase the awareness of the company and associated venues through networking, site visits and promotional activity.

You will be responsible for organising show rounds at all relevant venues, ensuring that you work with their client principals to ensure that the venue is showcased in the best possible light in order to secure business. You will also be charged with identifying new leads and opportunities in order to expand and grow the business. You must take a pro-active approach to finding new business by working closely with the wider Sales and Events Team.

You will have the opportunity to interact with a like-minded team across their range of heritage venues including some of Edinburgh's and Central Scotland's most prestigious Castles, Palaces, Stately Homes and buildings of distinction.

Applicants must have:

  • A track record in the hospitality industry, preferably in the luxury market
  • Proven experience of converting business
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and written
  • Proven experience of relationship development
  • Confidence to work with a wide range of clients
