We are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller to provide maternity cover to our Finance Team at our Head Office in Leeds. This is a fixed term 6-month contract to cover from June until December.
Key Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Finance Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial control and management accounts of the UK business, including but not limited to;
-Prepare the management accounts for ALNO (UK) Ltd to a very strict and time constrained 3-day month end.
-Control over all month end processes and reconciliations.
-Management, coaching and development of the team
-Preparation of daily cash flows both for the UK and German group reporting.
-Managing the UK banking, including the management of the Invoice Finance facility and the approval of payments in accordance with the cash flows of the business.
-Working closely with the credit manager and his team to support debt collection and processes to drive down DSO.
-Preparation of financial and KPI business reporting as required
-Financial control and compliance, including cost management, to create a robust, efficient and effective financial environment
-Processing of all VAT returns and monthly PAYE
Skills & Experience
·Qualified ACA/ACCA/ CIMA
·Minimum 5 years post qualified work experience with responsibility for team members’ performance and development
·Proven experience in managing the intense 3-day month end process, financial control, process improvement and working capital management
·Exceptional IT skills and advanced excel skills/ reporting (plus other MS applications)
·Proven experience in managing the banking relationship and an Invoice Discounting Facility.
·Strong technical, accounting and book-keeping skills
·Experienced in preparing cash flow forecasts to manage the business
·Trained in meeting challenging deadlines
·Familiarity with SAP
·Strong communication skills
·Work experience in an international environment
·Experience in retail and the construction industry is a strong advantage
·Familiarity with Epicor

This is a hands-on role. The job holder reports to the UK Finance Director and will be an experienced Financial Controller, with exceptional month-end management accounting, reporting and excel skills.Experienced in managing the banking relationship, invoice finance and cash flow forecasting the job holder will have excellent cash management skills and processes. The role requires a high personal commitment as the job holder will be required to work to strict time deadlines requiring a reasonable degree of flexibility in hours worked.
