Our client has a unique opportunity available for a VIP Officer to join the team in London. The role is a full time, 2 year fixed term contract offering a salary of circa £26,000 per annum including London weighting and benefits.
The association was founded in 1979. Their mission is to improve care and support for people with MND, their families and carers. They also fund and promote research that leads to new understanding and treatments and brings us closer to a cure for MND. The association also campaigns and raises awareness so the needs of people with MND, and everyone who cares for them, are recognised and addressed by wider society.
What are the responsibilities of the VIP Officer?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an engaging and dynamic individual to join the External Affairs Team.
As VIP Officer you will be at the heart of their celebrity engagement. They are looking for an outstanding relationship builder to help engage their high profile supporters, and secure their support for their vital fundraising and awareness generating work.
What skills do I need to have to become a VIP Officer?
It is essential that you have experience of working alongside high profile individuals. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills; with the ability to write compelling invitations, detailed briefings and informative web stories. A good working knowledge and experience of using social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and Facebook will aid their work in raising awareness of MND.
Your organised nature and attention to detail will ensure you work well with their VIPs, managing their involvement from initial invitation to escorting them at an event. You will ideally have experience in event management; to not only support existing events but also to help the team create exciting new cultivation concepts to benefit the Association.
This is a new role within a small team of three therefore you will be able to really make your mark and get involved in a variety of different areas, in addition to specific events which you will project manage. The team will also rely on your administration skills to keep them organised; and your passion for current affairs and popular culture to help ensure the relevancy of their work.
This is a fantastic opportunity for you to support and develop relationships with high profile individuals who ultimately can help those people affected by MND. Your interpersonal skills, and experience of working with key stakeholders at all levels - both internally and externally - are fundamental to your success in this role.
The ability to work flexibly with some unsocial hours as part of the normal job is a key requirement of this post.
